Amritsari Machhi (Fried Fish)
An excellent snack for fish lovers. Fish marinated in a traditional Amritsari (North Indian) way.

2 tbsp Yogurt
2 tbsp Ginger Paste
2 tbsp Garlic Paste
1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
½ tsp Thymol Seeds (ajwain)
1 cup Gram Flour
1 Egg
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
Lemon wedges to garnish

Ingredients:
500 gm Sole Fish (boneless)2 tbsp Yogurt
2 tbsp Ginger Paste
2 tbsp Garlic Paste
1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
½ tsp Thymol Seeds (ajwain)
1 cup Gram Flour
1 Egg
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
Lemon wedges to garnish
Directions:
- Apply salt, limejuice; ginger garlic paste and red chili powder on the fish.
- Make a batter of gram flour, yogurt, eggs, ajwain, salt and water.
- Marinate the fish in the batter for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and deep-fry the fish until lightly brown and crisp.
- Serve sprinkled with lemon wedges.
