Sausage and Cheese Strata
For an easy-to-prepare dish, try this hearty casserole. It can be prepared in advance and baked just before serving.

Ingredients:
10 slices White Bread (trimmed)
1 cup Mushrooms (sautéed)
1 ½ cup Cheddar Cheese (grated)
2-cup Browned Sausage
7 slightly beaten eggs
2 ½ cup Milk
1/2 tsp Salt
¼ tsp. Dry Mustard
¼ tsp Pepper
Directions:
  1. Butter the bread slices and put slices of bread in baking dish.
  2. Add layer of sausage followed by mushrooms and end with the cheese layer.
  3. Mix together eggs, milk, onions, mustard, salt and black pepper with a wire whip in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the layers in the baking dish.
  5. Refrigerate for 5-6 hours.
  6. Bake at 325 degrees for 55 minutes or until knife comes out clean.
  7. Serve hot.
  8. The sausage could be substituted with ham, turkey, seafood etc.
