Crusted Sesame Tofu

¼ cup Fat-Free Milk
2 Egg Whites
3 tbsp Bread Crumbs
2 tbsp white Sesame Seeds
1 tbsp black Sesame Seeds
10 Spring Onions
1 tsp Sesame Oil
1 tbsp Soy Sauce
½ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper
Ingredients:
500gms Firm Tofu¼ cup Fat-Free Milk
2 Egg Whites
3 tbsp Bread Crumbs
2 tbsp white Sesame Seeds
1 tbsp black Sesame Seeds
10 Spring Onions
1 tsp Sesame Oil
1 tbsp Soy Sauce
½ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper
Directions:
- Cut the tofu diagonally into 12 slices.
- Place the tofu slices in nonstick frying pan over medium heat and cook on each side till it turns slightly brown and loses some water. Keep aside.
- Whisk together milk, egg whites, salt and pepper.
- On a large plate, combine breadcrumbs and both black and white sesame seeds.
- Dip a tofu slice in the milk mixture and then into the sesame seed mixture.
- In a nonstick frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat.
- Arrange the tofu slices in the pan and cook, turning once, until lightly browned. Keep aside.
- Add the green onions to the pan and sauté until they begin to brown.
- Divide the green onions among individual serving plates.
- Tops each serving with tofu steaks and soy sauce.
- Serve immediately.
