Lentil and Barley Soup
This is a Low fat and low calorie recipe. A perfect meal flavored and filled with tasty and fresh vegetables.

˝ cup Lentil (red or yellow)
6 cups Water
2 Onions (chopped)
2 cloves Garlic (minced)
1 cup Tomatoes (diced)
1 tbsp Parsley or Mint
2 Carrots (diced)
1 tbsp Dried Thyme
1 cup Non-fat Yogurt
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste

Ingredients:
1 cup Barley ˝ cup Lentil (red or yellow)
6 cups Water
2 Onions (chopped)
2 cloves Garlic (minced)
1 cup Tomatoes (diced)
1 tbsp Parsley or Mint
2 Carrots (diced)
1 tbsp Dried Thyme
1 cup Non-fat Yogurt
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions:
- Heat oil in large saucepan and sauté onion, carrot, thyme, pepper and salt until onions are soft.
- Boil water, barley, lentils and the vegetables in another pan till they are tender.
- Stir in the above onion mixture along with Worcestershire sauce.
- Boil it till it thickens.
- Pour the yogurt and sprinkle parsley or mint.
- Serve hot.
