Flour Tortillas
Ingredients:
3 cups White Flour
1 tsp of Salt
2 tsp Baking Powder
½ cup Lard
1 cup of hot water
Directions:
  1. Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Mix in the lard by hand.
  3. Add warm water slowly until the dough is soft and non sticky.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth.
  5. Cover with a damp towel and then let rest 15 minutes.
  6. Make equal size balls.
  7. Flatten and roll each ball into a flat round disk with the help of tortilla rolling pin.
  8. Dust each ball with a little flour just before you roll them out.
  9. Cook on a very hot cast iron skillet. It should have lots of nice brown speckles when it is done.
  10. Keep the cooked tortillas warm by covering with a damp towel.
